GUNN Agri Partners, headed by former Macquarie executive Alan Hoppe, has snapped up Esmeralda Station, a cattle-breeding property in northern Queensland for $40 million.
Gunn Agri Partners which trades as Cunningham Cattle Company is beefing up its interests in the cattle industry and this latest deal comes hot on the heels of its acquisition of three properties near Roma – Ballaroo (11,463ha), Ekari Park (13,239ha), and Fairview (11,393ha) – for a total sum of $11 million in December last year.
Esmeralda Station is a 406,000ha property and was offered with 30,000 high grade Brahman cattle, located about 280km north of Richmond.
It was sold by Queensland Rural’s Troy Trevor, on behalf Mick and Trisha Sheahan, who have owned the property since 2001.
Trevor said the property operates as a calf factory and is able to carry 20,000 breeders.
