Last Saturday, sellers and buyers were back in the residential auctions market, according to the latest Home Price Guide by Australian Property Monitors.
Last Saturday, the residential auctions market in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane bounced back following a fall a week earlier.
In Sydney, 232 properties were marketed for auction of which 121 sold, resulting in an auction clearance rate of 55%.
The total value of properties sold in Sydney was $85.6 million.
Last Saturday, Sydney’s market also outperformed when compared to the same Saturday a year ago.
In Melbourne, the auctions market did bounce back last Saturday, however, sellers and buyers remained slightly cautious.
A total of 518 properties were auctioned in Melbourne, of which 165 sold, resulting in a clearance rate of 57.9%.
The total value for properties sold was $77.5 million.
A year ago, 570 properties were on the market and 197 were sold with a total value of $91.2 million.
The smaller market in Adelaide also climbed back this week with 57 listings and 17 sales, resulting in a clearance rate of 52.5%.
Last Saturday, the total value of properties sold was $7.4 million.
The Brisbane residential market also bounced back, however, like Melbourne, the market remained slightly cautious.
A total of 54 properties were auctioned of which 23 were sold, resulting in a clearance rate of 48.9%.
The total value of properties sold was $8.3 million.
