JLL has appointed a new head of sustainability for Australia and New Zealand, with Connor McCauley to lead the growing team.
McCauley will move from his current position as director of energy and sustainability, Asia Pacific at JLL, which he has held since April 2021.
“In his new role, Mr McCauley will focus on further expanding our sustainability services in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) business across all business segments and will continue to be an asset to our clients as they strive to reach their sustainability targets,” said Dan Kernaghan, CEO at JLL, Australia and New Zealand.
McCauley will bring more than a decade of experience in sustainability consulting and advisory positions, including in roles at Lendlease, The GPT Group and EY.
“Our clients already look to us for advice on how their real estate investments and operations can be more sustainable. I am looking forward to helping JLL achieve their own sustainability targets, while providing practical solutions that will create positive environmental, social and financial returns for the firm and its clients,” said McCauley.
“We are now in the decade of climate action, I am excited about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as the property industry continues to decarbonise the built environment and create a more sustainable future.”
He has been appointed to the newly created role as JLL continues its strategic focus on growing its sustainability capabilities and services.
“JLL is committed to delivering long-term value driving climate action in the built environment, and ultimately contributing to our broader purpose of shaping the future of real estate for a better world. Our dedication to transforming the property industry is underpinned by our own sustainability ambitions, and how we can help our clients achieve theirs. Growing our sustainability teams is critical to this evolving part of our business,” said Kernaghan.
“Our sustainability business already supports investors, landlords and corporate occupiers across a broad spectrum of sustainability services, from net zero carbon and climate resilience to wellbeing and social value. Connor has played a key role in assisting our clients in shaping and executing sustainability strategies and roadmaps, while embedding it as a key pillar of our business.”
McCauley will continue to be based in Sydney.
