WESTERN Australia’s Joint Development Assessment Panel has given the green light for Golden Sedayu to build the next two apartment towers at its multi-billion development overlooking Belmont Park Racecourse in Perth.
Together, the new 20-storey and 17-storey towers in the $3.8 billion Burswood Point precinct will house more than 200 apartments and include on-site amenities such as a residents’ cinema, cocktail lounge, fitness centre, fitness studio, and kids’ breakout space.
The towers will also accommodate outdoor dining and alfresco entertaining areas, a resort-style pool, residents’ library and sundeck and a boardroom meeting room.
Once complete, the 38-hectare inner city precinct will include 4,500 homes, hotels, 90,000 sqm of retail and commercial offerings, and 110,000 sqm of public open space.
The project will also see the new race steward’s box perched from within one of the apartment buildings.
Earlier approvals have already been obtained for 74 townhouses and 200 apartments across the Somerset West and Somerset East towers, with construction expected to begin later this year.
Works have begun on the boulevard and the subdivision on the north section of the precinct, and are on track to be completed by the first quarter of 2025.
Golden Sedayu managing director Andrew Sugiaputra said the development, which was approved within four months of being lodged, was the next step towards the realisation of the Burswood Point precinct, as well as the redevelopment of the Belmont Park Racecourse.
“The speed with which this development application was approved is a testament to the hard work of the Golden Sedayu team and our commitment to seeing our vision for Burswood Point realised,” he said.
Golden Sedayu is a partnership between WA property developer Golden Group and Indonesian project developer Agung Sedayu, established to develop Burswood Point project.
