Residential auction clearance rates across four capital cities were above 50% last Saturday, according to Australian Property Monitors? Home Price Guide.
According to the Home Price Guide, the high auction clearance rates were achieved in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane despite an increase number of properties coming onto the market.
The Adelaide market also recorded a higher clearance rate, however, the number of auction listings dipped slightly.
Last Saturday, Sydney and Melbourne’s residential property auction markets were highly active, with twice as many listings as well as sales when compared a week earlier.
In Sydney, 107 properties were auctioned and 54 were sold resulting in a clearance rate of 54% and a total of $28.4 million worth of properties were sold.
In Melbourne, there were 133 auctions and 67 sales resulting in a clearance rate of 61.5%. The total value of properties sold was $18.8 million.
Meanwhile in Adelaide, 36 properties went under the hammer of which 27 were sold resulting in a clearance rate of 79.4%. The total value of properties sold was $9.1 million.
In Brisbane, 41 properties were auctioned and 22 were sold resulting in a clearance rate of 66.7%. The total value of properties sold was $9.3 million.
