SHORTLY after being announced as Swinburne University’s new Melbourne headquarters, a Hawthorn office building has been listed for sale with expectations of $50 million.
The figure would represent a notable uplift on the $37.36 million paid by the vendor, Sydney-based property syndicate Bricktop, just three years ago in partnership with Sydney property investor and developers Trumen Corp.
Swinburne University has only just leased the entire 5,660 building, a short distance from its Hawthorn campus, signing a five-year deal at a rate of $510 per sqm. The property includes 182 car parks and was previously tenanted by Skilled Engineering.
CBRE’s Scott Orchard, Josh Rutman, Mark Wizel and Lewis Tong, together with Gorman Commercial’s Stephen Gorman and Jonathan McCormack are handling the expressions of interest process.
