MINING magnate Socrates Vasiliades has sold his Toorak mansion.
Vasiliades spent six years building the three-storey 2,100 sqm mansion comprises 22 rooms including six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a lift, home theatre, gym, pool, basement parking for five vehicles.
He lived in the property, at 3 Towers Rd Toorak, for six days before moving out and putting it on the market in 2011 with an asking price of $30 million.
However after sitting vacant for three years, the price tag was revised down to $25 million. The property has been sold to Sarah Lew for an undisclosed price.
The record price for a Melbourne prestige property continues to be held by the sale of Ilyuka at Portsea to John Higgins in 2010 for $26 million.
The Smorgon family bought 750 Orrong Rd Toorak for $25 million.
This is the second sale along Towers Rd, the other was 1 Towers Rd for $21.5 million to Cotton On founder Nigel Austin.
