A PENTHOUSE at Mirvac's $200 million waterfront luxury residential development, Mariner's Peninsula, in Townsville has sold for $2.495 million – setting a new record within the Breakwater Precinct.
The seventh level 315 sqm four bedroom apartment was purchased by a Townsville businessman.
Mirvac’s CEO development in Queensland Matthew Wallace said the sale is a solid vote of confidence in the Townsville property market.
“To achieve this level of price for a penthouse in Mariner’s Peninsula is a tremendous result not only for the project, but also for the city itself,” he added.
Mariner’s Peninsula overlooks the Townsville marina and is located on a 3.2 hectare site with 720 metres of water frontage just off The Strand.
On completion in 2012 the project will comprise a total of approximately 180 luxury waterfront apartments in two stages, four beach front houses and 14 bay house lots.
Wallace said two of the four beach front homes being constructed have already sold for prices of $2.625 million and $2.595 million.
“Townsville is a city with strong and diversified economy and we have proven that there will always be demand for high quality, architect designed luxury residential living,” he concluded.
