THE NSW government has changed planning rules to rezone land near the proposed Western Sydney Airport for industrial use.
The Western Sydney Employment Area SEPP will be amended to rezone around 47 hectares of land to the west of Mamre Road at Orchard Hills from rural to industrial.
NSW Planning Minister Rob Stokes said the rezone land at Mamre West paves the way for up to around 500 new jobs for Western Sydney.
“This rezoning fits in with the Department’s vision for Sydney, A Plan for Growing Sydney, by encouraging jobs and growth in Western Sydney.
“This employment area is going to be the single largest new employment space in NSW,” he added.
Member for Mulgoa Tanya Davies said the Western Sydney Employment Area will be the single largest new employment precinct in NSW when it is completed.
