Australia’s most successful online news publication has been renamed Australian Property Journal.
From August 15, readers can access Australian Property Journal at http://www.australianpropertyjournal.com.au/. There will be no disruption to the daily news service.
Since May 2003, Property Review has become one of Australia’s most successful online publications. Property Review, or Australian Property Journal as it became was the Australian Press Council’s first online news member. It will remain a key online member of the APC.
However, according to Publisher & Owner of Australian Property Journal®, Nelson Yap, the words “property review” have become used and over-used by many publications and true ownership of those words is “impossible”.
“The words ‘property review’ have been sullied. So many publications now use these two words, and they are now devalued,” Yap said in announcing the creation of his new publication.
“There are so many copycat publications trying to ride off the back of our success. Most have fallen by the wayside with poor publications.”
“We have been going now since 2003 and continue to grow our business, we have some 22,000 subscribers and on a daily basis challenge the traditional media by breaking business and property news,” Yap said.
Yap pointed to his company’s massive 13-year database of property news and data and intellectual property.
“The new name and trade mark gives us security to build the business into Australia’s number one property news website.
“Very soon Australian Property Journal ® will begin rolling out useful ‘add ons’ for our subscribers and website users.”
“We finally have a clear path, a new name that is a protected trade mark and Australian Property Journal ® will continue to lead the property market with leading edge news coverage.
Yap said he had seen many online competitors come and go, but “13 years later his business has become stronger and stronger”.
