CBUS Property’s 50 Flinders St office tower in Adelaide continues to be the only building in Australia to achieve a 6 Star NABERS Energy rating, without the use of purchased Green Power.
The property has also retained a 4.5 Star rating for NABERS Water and a 6 Star NABERS Indoor Environment rating.
Cbus Property’s CEO Adrian Pozzo said the 6 Star NABERS Energy rating was achieved by reducing electricity consumption by 17% from 2018.
“This exciting achievement means that 50 Flinders St is not only one of the most energy-efficient buildings in Australia, but it also provides a superior indoor working environment for our office and retail partners, improving the health, well-being and productivity of our tenants,” he added.
Constructed in 2015, the CBRE-managed tower was designed to achieve a 5 Star NABERS Energy Rating. CBRE’s team includes Richard Massie, Julia Roberts, Dammika Weerakkoddy and Sachith Alwis.
The 21,744.9 sqm building is leased to the People’s Choice Credit Union, the South Australian Government, BUPA, Cbus Super and Fiefy’s Café. It also includes Adelaide’s only office building childcare facility in the CBD, leased to Guardian Childcare & Education.
CBRE Property Management senior director Michael Hall said the achievements demonstrated Cbus Property’s and CBRE’s commitment to pursuing best-in-class sustainability and energy management targets.
