Appelt Properties proposed mixed-use tower in Surrey, B.C., has passed the third reading in the development permit process.
The project now only faces final adoption before receiving a development permit. The property, at 9525 King George Boulevard, is close to Surrey Memorial Hospital and UBC Surrey Campus.
The tower is slated to rise 41 storeys and total 380,000 sq ft. Plans call for 463 one- to three-bedroom rental units. Residential amenities will include a gym, a community kitchen, a rooftop deck and a lounge.
Plans also call for five floors of class-A medical outpatient space totalling 67,000 sq ft. That space will have separate entrances, lobbies and elevators, with an emphasis on accessibility.
