THE Brisbane City Council’s Planning Committee has approved Aria Property Group’s 82-storey residential tower at 171 Edward St.
The committee’s LNP councillors including Chairman Julian Simmonds, Councillors Vicki Howard (Central), Angela Owen-Taylor (Calamvale Ward) and Adam Allan (Northgate) all voted in favour, whilst Greens Councillor Jonathan Sri opposed the development.
Dubbed the ‘golden tower’, the proposed development will rise 274m and include 642 apartments, a 13-storey car stacker and 1,950 sqm of retail and commercial space at the ground and podium level.
