Since “officially” returning just a fortnight ago, the residential property auctions market is showing glimpses of a steady year ahead, according to the latest Home Price Guide from Australian Property Monitors.
According to the latest Home Price Guide, the auction clearance rate in Sydney and Adelaide almost recorded a 12 month high, while Melbourne’s residential auctions was more subdued.
Last Saturday in Sydney, 192 properties were auctioned of which 106% was sold.
The auction clearance rate last Saturday in Sydney was 62.7%, the average 52 week hi was 63%.
The total value of properties sold in Sydney was $54.6 million.
In contrast, the auction clearance rate in Melbourne was only 56.4%. However, there were more properties on the market for auction last Saturday when compared to the same time 12 months ago.
Last Saturday, 489 properties went under the hammer, of which 201 was sold, compared to 408 listings and 185 sales the same time 12 months ago.
The total value of properties sold was $60.6 million.
In Adelaide, the auction clearance rate was 73.9% from 17 sales out of a total of 35 properties that listed for auctioned.
Last Saturday, the total value of properties sold was $6.9 million.
