Sellers and buyers took a break from the auction market last Saturday, according to the latest Home Price Guide results from Australian Property Monitors.
Last Saturday, the long weekend did not stop some sellers and buyers from participating in the market.
In Sydney and Melbourne, residential property listings and sales through auction were higher last Saturday when compared to the same time last year.
While the auction market in Adelaide and Brisbane slip back slightly when compared to the same time last year.
In Sydney, 127 properties were auctioned of which 63 were sold, resulting in a clearance rate of 57.3% – compared to 98 listings and 32 sales last year.
The total value of properties sold was $44.8 million.
In Melbourne, 163 properties were auctioned and 82 were sold, resulting in a clearance rate of 57.7% – compared to 147 listings and 55 sales last year.
The total value of properties sold was $32.8 million.
Meanwhile, both the Adelaide and Brisbane market record clearance rates below 50% last Saturday.
In Adelaide, 31 properties were auction and 12 were sold, resulting in a clearance rate of 48%.
The total value of properties sold was $4 million.
In Brisbane, 35 properties were auction and 10 were sold, resulting in a clearance rate 40%.
The total value of properties sold was $4.3 million.
