BENDIGO Bank has secured retail space within Melbourne’s iconic Block Arcade.
Bendigo Bank will relocate from nearby 303 Collins St to the 292 Collins St arcade after leasing 214 sqm of space.
CBRE’s Zelman Ainsworth and Samantha Hunt in conjunction with the managing agent Pat Barnes from Allard & Shelton handled the deal.
Grant Cohen spokesperson for the Cohen family, which own the arcade, said he was delighted with the Bendigo Bank lease.
“Bendigo Bank’s rich Victorian heritage will certainly complement what is regarded as the state’s most iconic and significant retail arcade,” Cohen said.
Ainsworth said the space will be Bendigo Bank’s flagship Melbourne branch. The bank will occupy space formerly leased to health insurer Bupa.
“The lease highlights the continued strength in the Melbourne retail market, with the retail vacancy rate on Collins Street close to zero at present,” Ainsworth said.
