BOVIS Lend Lease has been awarded the design and construction contract for the new Myer National Support Office at Victoria Harbour in Melbourne's Docklands precinct.
The new Myer offices will be located at 800 Collins Street in Victoria Harbour. Lend Lease is developing the building for Myer and APPF Commercial, one of Lend Lease Investment Management’s wholesale property funds, which will own the facility upon completion.
The building will comprise approximately 880 sqm of ground floor retail space, three car park levels, as well as ten large flexible office floorplates of nearly 3000 sqm.
Myer will occupy the entire office component of the 29,000 sqm building, which will also house large outdoor terraces and a proposed childcare facility.
The development has a forecast value on completion of $175 million.
Bovis Lend Lease’s general manager in Victoria Geoff Moore said the new Myer offices will be a sustainable building featuring A-Grade office accommodation that has been registered for a Green Star environmental rating.
“We will partner closely with Myer throughout the duration of the project to ensure the facility meets their requirements. This new building will be developed using environmentally-friendly construction techniques both for the base building and fitout,” Moore said. “This project is the sixth office building to be developed by Lend Lease Development and constructed by Bovis Lend Lease within Victoria Harbour,”
Construction of the new Myer headquarters will commence in March 2008 and is scheduled for completion early 2010.
Also in Victoria, Bovis Lend Lease is responsible for the project management, design and construction of the new $1 billion Royal Children’s Hospital, the largest hospital development in Australia, as part of the Children’s Health Partnership consortium.
The company is also constructing the new Melbourne Recital Centre and a new theatre for the Melbourne Theatre Company.
