MALAYSIAN property developer UEM Sunrise Berhad is on a successful streak in Melbourne, selling over 65% of apartments at its second project, Conservatory.
This follows the sale of over 95% of apartments at its 941-unit 92-storey Aurora development in just three weeks.
Prior to the official launch yesterday, UEM Sunrise sold over 65% at an exclusive preview, including more than half of the penthouse units to a Singaporean and local buyer more than two months ago.
Designed by highly acclaimed and award-winning architect Professor Philip Cox AO of Cox Architecture, Conservatory will comprise 446 apartments in a 42-storey majestic tower.
UEM Sunrise CEO Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said the $320 million development has received an impressive reception in the market.
“We are extremely pleased to have received such a high level of interest from local and international buyers in both the owner-occupier and investor markets looking to benefit from luxury-living and first-class amenities in the World’s Most Liveable City,” he added.
Anwar Syahrin said when combined with the $770 million Aurora and the upcoming St Kilda Rd development, UEM Sunrise has over $1.3 billion worth of projects underway in Melbourne.
He added that as a new entrant to the Melbourne market – this massive investment underscores UEM Sunrise’s confidence in Melbourne and Australia.
Professor Cox said Conservatory will offer a sanctuary for its occupants – a place to grow, relax and share special moments.
“Conservatory embraces the true spirit of garden living in the city,” Cox said.
UEM Sunrise’s chief operating officer – Commercial Raymond Cheah said the company is leveraging on its international experience and capability in residential and mixed-use developments to Melbourne.
“Conservatory is where city vibrancy meets garden tranquility. It truly offers the best of both worlds. With well-considered layouts and the best quality of internal finishing, the project will be a testament of UEM Sunrise’s commitment to deliver the best in luxury living,” he added.
Construction is expected to commence in the first half of 2016.
Thomson Geer’s property partner Eu Ming Lim acted for both the developer and development of Conservatory and Aurora.
