THE ACT government has sold a childcare centre at Higgins Canberra at auction for a record price of $2.605 million.
Knight Frank’s Nic Purdue and Daniel McGrath handled the sale of the 4,575 sqm site located at Block 3, Section 11, Higgins.
Purdue said the sale achieved a record price for a childcare site in Canberra.
He added that there were a number of registered bidders on the day, with two Sydney-based buyers strongly competing.
“The opening bid was $300,000, and we had another 145 bids across the auction.
“The sale highlights the strength in demand for childcare sites across the ACT region,” Purdue said.
“We were flooded with enquiries from both local and interstate buyers, and we are pleased to deliver such a strong result for our client. With strong prices being paid for childcare centres nationally, the ACT looks competitive for national investors,” McGrath added.
