A 1,187sqm development site in Melbourne’s CBD is going to the market with permit approval for 255 residential apartments and ground floor retail.
The 9 Downie St property is located near the corner of Flinders Lane and Spencer Street and is set to be home to a 30-level development named Lower West Village, designed by Melbourne architects Peddle Thorp.
Colliers International’s Bryson Cameron, Trent Hobart and Daniel Wolman are marketing the property by an expressions of interest campaign closing Friday, October 28th.
“This is one of Melbourne’s most exciting permitted development opportunities which is ready for immediate development,” Cameron said.
He added that the west end of the CBD was emerging as Melbourne’s most popular apartment living precinct.
“This is due to a culmination of the opening of a new Ritz Carlton luxury hotel; an explosion of commercial and mixed use development in the precinct; the earmarked redevelopment of the former World Trade Centre; and a steady flow of new bars and world-class restaurants,” he continued.
Hobart said the plans include 294sqm of ground floor retail space, ensuring the activation of another Melbourne laneway to be explored.
The international expressions of interest campaign closes on Friday October 28, 2016.
