MAJOR Chinese group He Sheng’s Harmony Beef and Cattle is making its first purchase, the Earl of Stradbroke’s Mt Fyans property in Victoria’s Western District, for a reported figure of about $34 million.
The 5,900-hectare property was amassed over 25 years by the Earl, Keith Rous.
It includes 2,800 Black Angus breeders and 2,000 sheep for lamb production, springs, dams and bores, with improvements comprising a mid-1880s homestead.
The Earl’s grandfather George Rous was the third Earl of Stradbroke and governor of Victoria from 1921 to 1931.
