GLOBAL law firm Clifford Chance is moving to Brookfield’s $2 billion commercial tower rising above Wynyard station, bringing the office component closer to full occupation.
The firm has committed to 2,611 sqm of space in the tower designed by Make Architects, which is now 92% leased and Brookfield says it is in discussions with a number of tenants on remaining space. Multiplex is adding the finishing touches to the 27-level tower, which topped out in August.
The 10 Carrington Street tower has a total net lettable area of 59,000 sqm and also comprises the restoration of Shell House and 285 George Street.
Relocating from its current premises at 1 O’Connell Street, Clifford Chance will occupy all of level 24 and part of level 23 on an eight year term commencing in August 2022.
NAB has just started its move into the office component of Brookfield Place Sydney with other key tenants including Allianz and flexible workspace operator Hub Australia set to join them. Brookfield recently secured ASX-listed Moelis Australia to 3,800 sqm of office space across levels 26 and 27 of the development, as well as part of level 25 in the main office tower.
“We are delighted to move into such a high quality space which will provide a state-of-the-art working environment for our growing team and proximity to our clients,” Richard Gordon, Clifford Chance managing partner Australia, said.
Clifford Chance has a worldwide presence spanning five continents.
“We have a strong global relationship with Clifford Chance and look forward to welcoming them to the precinct,” executive vice president & co-head of Brookfield Properties, Carl Schibrowski said.
“The continued success of our leasing programs right across the nation suggests big business continues to invest with confidence, despite the impacts of COVID-19.”
Brookfield has just unveiled several new specialty traders that will take up retail tenancies within the development, including Priceline, Australian tea retailer T2, Sydney Barbers and premium florist Flower Train.
