HAVING just sold its headquarters to the state government for a cool $95.5 million, Carlton and United Breweries is on the move through Southbank, slashing its office footprint in the process.
It has signed a 6,500 sqm lease across levels 20 to 23 of GPT and Frasers Property Australia’s premium-grade, 37-storey Freshwater Place tower at 2 Southbank Boulevard, on Melbourne’s CBD fringe.
The deal is believed to have been inked between $800 per sqm and $850 per sqm.
CUB was using 14,000 sqm within 77 Southbank Boulevard, having occupied the building for more than 25 years, and its deal with the state government included a three-year leaseback.
