IN acquiring infrastructure and construction project management specialists PDS Group, Deloitte will now offer its clients development and project management services.
Deloitte Australia’s capabilities will be transformed in the end-to-end public and private infrastructure project management space.
“With the construction sector, and the infrastructure agenda being such an important driver behind Australia’s COVID-19 recovery, there is significant demand for advisory and project management services,” said Adam Powick, CEO of Deloitte.
PDS Group has supported over 600 public and private sector projects, specialising in high performance, cost effective and integrated project and development solutions.
“With the surge in public and private infrastructure investment and the drive to low-carbon footprints we are seeing an unprecedented need from our clients for project delivery support,” said David McCarthy, financial advisory managing partner at Deloitte.
PDS supports a project from beginning to end, with project management, development management and project advisory.
“PDS Group’s exceptional reputation in built environment project solutions will complement and extend our existing infrastructure, capital projects and real estate advisory capability. By joining forces with PDS Group we will realise a long held ambition to deliver our clients end-to-end capability in this space, from strategy and planning, to funding and procurement, and, now first-class project delivery,” added McCarthy.
The group’s team of 70 will continue working from its existing offices and will focus on Deloitte’s offerings in sustainable infrastructure, precincts and the public sector.
“They bring with them a top-tier client base and strong respect in the market, with the Group having evolved and matured over 20 years. This high regard will continue, and teaming with Deloitte will underpin the next phase of the team’s growth, while retaining the agility and esprit de corps for which they are known,” said McCarthy.
Andrew Fortey, co-founder and managing director of PDS Group will commence as a Deloitte Financial Advisory partner.
“This move offers an opportunity to expand and grow our established networks further into upstream and early engagements with government and large multinational clients, and will provide our people with significant career advancement opportunities through accelerated growth supported by the leveraging of Deloitte’s significant regional and global network,” said Fortey.
Integration of PDS Group into Deloitte will commence formally from 1 September 2021.
