PROPERTY developer Max Beck and Lindsay Fox have landed automotive giant Dutton Wholesale to anchor a speculative industrial development in the newly launched Hart Precinct in Essendon Fields.
Dutton Wholesale, Australia’s largest wholesaler of pre-owned, prestige, and luxury vehicles, will use the facility to store and distribute vehicles to its extensive dealer network across the country.
The flagship development, located at 1 Challenger Court, occupies a prominent 9,879 sqm site and features a modern 5,134 sqm warehouse, a 503 sqm metre office, hardstand areas, and ample onsite car parking. Designed by Watson Young and delivered by builders FDC Construction with project management by TMX Transform, the facility offers top-tier amenities and logistical advantages.
The precommitment is a major vote of confidence for Beck and Fox’s speculative development with Stage 1 of the Hart Precinct spanning more than 13 hectares, already over 50% leased.
Dutton will join Modscape, which recently completed a 20,000 sqm facility on a neighbouring site, and Autex Acoustics, whose 10,600 sqm facility is currently under construction.
Brendan Pihan, CEO of Essendon Fields said the transaction with Dutton Wholesale was completed prior to the building’s practical completion, which highlights the continuing demand for high-quality industrial facilities at Essendon Fields.
Matt Hanson, CEO of Dutton Automotive, said the new facility is perfectly located to meet the needs of its various retail sites in Melbourne, as well as its growing national dealership network.
Dutton Automotive was represented by Tony Tripodi, director at CBRE.
