THREE adjoining cattle stations near Alice Springs sprawling across 11,125 square kilometres have sold to the Edmunds family’s Hale River Group for $38.5 million.
Tim and Emily Edmunds have added Narwietooma, Derwent and Glen Helen to their Napperby Station close by, nearly a year after they sold off the 2,340 hectare Kadlunga in South Australia for what was believed to be a similar price.
The trio of stations are 165 kilometres north west of Alice Springs nad have a total carrying capacity of over 40,000 head of cattle, and further infrastructure development could add another 10,000 to that.
They acquired the properties from Tony and Pam Davis, who also own Amburla and Hamilton Downs in the Northern Territory.
Hale River Group had sold Ambalindum and Numery Stations in the Northern Territory in 2015 for over $50 million, exiting the region in favour of the Kadlunga in the Clare Valley. They returned to the Northern Territory in 2017 with the $20 million purchased of Napperby Station.
The integrated beef production enterprise also owns a fleet of road trains and a spelling and transfer facility located in the Clare Valley.
