THE former Secret Liaisons and The Black Orchid brothel at Burleigh Heads has been sold to a surfboard products company for $950,000.
The vacant 280 sqm building on a 2,031 sqm land area at 12 Greg Chappell Drive, Burleigh Heads, was sold to Southcoast Foam and Fibreglass by Ray White Commercial’s Adam Grbcic and Tony Grbcic.
“The sale represents a price of $467 per sqm which I believe is the highest price achieved in the Burleigh Gardens Industrial Estate,” Grbcic said. “The buyer purchased the property to expand their business and its easy access to the M1 Motorway, hardstand condition and neutral position within the estate were all highly appealing to them.”
The property has been vacant since Secret Liaisons, which had leased the building, ceased trading late last year just a few months after the property was sold by Adam and Tony Grbcic, who have sold the building three times since 2014.
“The property has been operating as a brothel for more than 15 years and has changed hands twice in recent years,” Grbcic said. “Despite being fully fitted with all fixtures and chattels, including pink fluffy dressing gowns and an array of moisturisers, we found 90% of the enquiry was for alternative uses.”
