LOCAL developer Genesis is again looking to take advantage of the ongoing warehousing boom and growth in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, buying a vacant parcel of land for $9 million with plans to build a new industrial unit complex.
Lot 2, 27-35 Cooper Street, Campbellfield was acquired from McMullin Property, which had bought the 13,540 sqm site in 2021 for $8.25 million.
Jones Real Estate’s Tim Spargo managed the sale.
The Cooper Street site is strategically located nearby to key arterials like the Hume Highway and O’Herns Road, while being supported by a host of surrounding amenity including Melbourne Market, Epping Plaza, Bunnings Warehouse and a Liberty service station.
Spargo said, “Genesis is planning to develop the land parcel into industrial units and I’m excited to see their vision for the project come to life in the future.”
In 2021, Genesis Property snapped up a 1.63-hectare infill development site opposite the Pacific Epping Shopping Centre and Northern Hospital at 142-150 Cooper Street in Epping for $9.1 million.
Its new acquisition adjoins McMullin Property’s CooperRex Business Park at 280 Rex Road, which has brought to market 17 brand-new architecturally-designed warehousing and office properties ranging from 170 to 464 sqm.
CooperRex Business Park offers securely gated on-site entry and car parking, a CCTV security network, three-phase power sources, high-clearance roller door access for tall vehicles, and mezzanine-equipped office spaces with integrated kitchen facilities and air conditioning. There are 11 units still available.
