A MAJOR refrigeration distribution centre at Ormeau on the northern Gold Coast has been sold by Ray White Commercial for $11.75 million.
The 2.126ha property at 84 Lahrs Rd was purchased by national refrigerated transport and cold storage company Scott’s Refrigerated Freightways Pty Ltd, which has been a long term tenant.
Ray White Commercial Queensland sales director Karen Seeto said Scott’s Refrigerated Freightways had a 15 x 15 year lease on the property, which commenced in 2002, but had decided to owner-occupy.
“Scott’s are well established at this particular site and the company thought it made more sense to purchase the property rather than lease it,” he added.
Seeto said the purpose built distribution centre included 362 sqm of offices, eight freezers, 1,000 sqm of dock area, 146 car parks and 14 truck parks.
Ormeau is just 10km south of the well established business and industrial hub of Yatala.
