The residential property auction clawed back last week, coming back after two weeks of weaker results, according to the Home Price Guide by Australian Property Monitors.
According to the Home Price Guide, the auction market last week in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide recorded higher listings and sales when compared to the same Saturday last year.
However, with the exception of Sydney, the auction market in Melbourne and Adelaide was slightly weaker when compared to a week earlier.
In Sydney, 271 properties listed for auction of which 145 were sold, representing an auction clearance rate of 61.4%.
A total value of $117.4 million of properties was sold last week.
In Sydney, the dearest property sold was a three bedroom home in Longueville by Hamilton & Co Real Estate for $3.856 million.
The cheapest property sold was a three bedroom house in North St Marys by Elliott Shiner First National Real Estate for $205,000.
Meanwhile, in Melbourne, 415 properties listed for auction, of which 178 were sold, representing an auction clearance rate of 64.3%.
The total value of properties sold was $72.4 million.
The dearest property sold was a four bedroom house in Kew by Jellis Craig for $1.89 million.
The cheapest property sold was a block of land in St Albans by Douglas Kay for $107,000.
In Adelaide, 51 properties listed for auction of which 24 were sold, representing an auction clearance rate of 52.2%.
The total value of properties sold was $7.7 million.
The dearest property sold was a four bedroom house in Westbourne Park by Toop & Toop Norwood by $650,000.
The cheapest property sold was a two bedroom house in Thebarton by LJ hooker Mile End for $239,000.
