Construction has commenced on Gympie’s largest new residential project at the $40 million Gympie Pines Golf Course.
Yesterday, Cooloola Shire Mayor Mick Venardos officially launched the start of construction of the new $40 million, Gympie Pines Fairway Villas development.
Stage 1 of the 90-townhouse project will feature three buildings comprising of 14 townhouses, ranging in price from $239,500 to $344,500.
Construction of Stage 1 will take approximately 26 weeks and will include the 14 townhouses, the project’s display unit and recreation areas, including swimming pool and BBQ areas and residents’ entertainment area and gymnasium.
Spokesperson for the syndicate who owns the golf course, Tony Kent said the start of construction was an important milestone for the project and the wider Gympie community.
“This is the largest new development project in Gympie and continues the strong development boom throughout the city.
“The project has undergone extensive feasibility and planning studies to ensure we deliver the best possible product and we are delighted that construction is now underway.
“Gympie Pines Fairway Villas will create an unrivalled lifestyle in Gympie and stylish low-maintenance residences and community facilities overlooking the region’s premier golf course.” Kent concluded.
The new project is being marketed by PRDnationwide Project Marketing.
Marketing director Bill Weirsaid there had already been strong buyer interest in Stage 1 of the project, which is expected to continue now that construction is underway.
“There has been particularly strong interest from the Sunshine Coast, where buyers recognise the comparable value for money, lifestyle and community infrastructure on offer in Gympie.
“Gympie continues to enjoy strong economic and population growth as evidenced by its ongoing development boom in the retail and commercial sectors. Gympie Pines Fairway Villas will now provide the location, lifestyle and upmarket residences to enjoy everything the region has to offer, including golfing, surrounding coastal attractions, a maturing local community infrastructure and convenient rail link to Brisbane,” he added.
