ROB Hecek has been presented with a lifetime contribution and achievement award by the Australian Property Institute (API) at this year’s National Property Conference (NPC).
Hecek is a Life Fellow and former president of the API, and the award was given for the “pioneering and innovative contributions” he has made for API members and valuers not only in Australia but also globally.
Hecek has been instrumental in developing initiatives such as the APIV Limited Liability scheme and the UN-adopted International Fire Safety Standards, and more recently has made a key contribution to industry-led professional indemnity scheme, Propsec.
He was recently appointed as the chair of the World Association of Valuation Organisations and took the reins at its annual general meeting in Singapore in June.
The NPC heard from a number of his colleagues and peers on the night, including Excellence in Property Award winner Sally Dale – the first female Valuer General.
