The Australian residential property auctions market rebounded last Saturday after recording a flat performance a week earlier, according to Australian Property Monitors’ Home Price Guide.
Last Saturday, the residential property auction markets in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane all recorded clearance rates.
In Sydney, the market edged higher with 338 property auctions and 168 sales resulting in a clearance rate of 51.7%.
The total value of properties sold was $130.2 million.
In Melbourne, 581 properties were auctioned and 339 were sold resulting in a clearance rate of 67.4%. The total value of properties sold was $151.6 million.
Melbourne’s market also managed to outperform its 52-week high auction clearance rate of 67%.
Adelaide was also another market which marginally outperformed its 52-week high auction clearance rate.
Last Saturday in Adelaide, 73 properties went under the hammer and 49 were sold resulting in a clearance rate of 75.4% – the 52-week high was 75%.
The total value of properties sold was $22.6 million.
In Brisbane, 68 properties were auctioned and 21 properties sold were sold resulting in a clearance rate of 53.8%.
The total value of properties sold was $10.7 million.
