JAYCAR Electronics has opened its new flagship store at Central Park Mall, within Frasers Property Australia and Sekisui House’s $2 billion Central Park development in central Sydney.
At 420sqm, the new store is a larger format than most of Jaycar’s current sites, and will sell more than 7,000 active product lines as well as offer an equipment for hire service, interactive display areas and collaborative workspaces.
Central Park Mall is part of the Central Park Retail Block, also comprising DUO Retail and Park Lane Retail, which is currently being shopped around by the developers for $170 million.
Offered in one line, they represent the three remaining assets of the 12-year project and will close out the developers’ divestment strategy for the $2 billion mixed-use development.
Central Park Mall is anchored by a Woolworths supermarket and Palace Cinema complex, and features entertainment, fashion and experiential retailers, as well as an alfresco dining precinct. DUO Retail has eight retail outlets and Park Lane Retail has six retail outlets.
The Jaycar lease continues the partnership between the electronics giant and Frasers Property. Earlier this year, the groups reached an agreement that will see Frasers Property deliver a new 21,595 sqm automated warehouse and distribution centre for Jaycar worth $80 million at its Eastern Creek Business Park in Sydney’s western suburbs.
