PROLIFIC developer Tim Gurner has signed up chef-restaurateur Jessi Singh to anchor its E.S. Smith residences in Melbourne’s buzzing inner suburb of Collingwood.
The deal includes the lease of two ground-floor hospitality venues of 106 sqm and 267 sqm , at 368-374 Smith Street on 10-year terms, where Singh is set to deliver a new Michelin-chef fine dining venue and laid-back curry pub to the vibrant local food scene.
The bespoke E.S. Smith residences are designed by Warren & Mahoney Architects.
“E.S. Smith has been inspired by old-world speak-easies and private clubs, and our vision from the outset was to anchor the heritage-retained façade with an incredible hospitality operator to bring the public realm to life,” Gurner said.
“The addition of Jessi Singh’s culinary destinations underscores our commitment to securing only the best minds in hospitality to curate vibrant and diverse experiences that enhance the lifestyle offerings within our developments.
“Jessi Singh and his team are at the top of their game – their venues showcase exceptional culinary concepts, in keeping with the high-calibre of eateries in Collingwood.”
Comprising eight storeys, E.S. Smith will include 665 sqm of commercial and co-working space alongside 360 sqm of ground-floor retail, complementing its surrounding close-knit network of hole-in-the-wall cafés, heritage shopfronts, artisanal retailers and locally adored restaurants.
E.S. Smith is set to be complete this month, with the new dining venues opening in the middle of 2024.
Gurner Group is now launching a third hospitality space for lease at neighbouring asset Ateliér at 23 Johnston Street to further cement its hospitality presence in the inner north.
