VDM Group’s subsidiary, Keytown Constructions, has been awarded three new building contracts totalling $9.5 million.
Keytown Constructions has been awarded a building contract to construct a complex in Northbridge, Western Australia, comprising 14 townhouses and 1,000 metres of office space. The $5.15 million project is scheduled to commence in October 2006 and is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete.
Keytown Constructions has also been awarded a “design and construct” contract for another complex in Northbridge. This $3.2 million project, which is scheduled to commence in November 2006, will take approximately 12 months to complete. The complex comprises 14 apartments and 4 offices/retail outlets.
The third contract to be awarded will utilise the Hyparspace roofing system. Keytown Constructions will be a subcontractor on the John Holland Construction project in Picton, New South Wales which is due to commence in January 2007 for completion this financial year.
“While VDM was not the original designer, the Van Der Meer Consulting team “value engineered” the design to achieve significant savings for the client which enabled the project to proceed.” VDM Group’s chief executive John Farrell said.
“Being awarded this contract is further evidence that VDM Group’s “concept to completion” approach satisfies the requirements of many of our clients,” Keytown Constructions’ general manager Paul Carter said.
Based on its current order book, Keytown Constructions expects turnover for the financial year ended June 30, 2007 to exceed $35 million.
