LEND Lease's Victorian headquarters, the Gauge bas been awarded the highest environmental award by VicUrban.
It is the first time VicUrban has awarded the ESD Award of Excellence which signifies World’s Best Practice in Ecologically Sustainable Development.
Located at 825 Bourke Street in Victoria Harbour, the building has been funded and is owned by the Lend Lease managed Australian Prime Property Fund Commercial. Levels 1 and 2 will become the Victorian headquarters of Lend Lease.
Lend Lease’s chief operating officer Ross Taylor said the VicUrban award reinforces the green credentials of the Gauge.
“The Gauge responds to the two significant environmental challenges facing Australia, greenhouse gas emissions and water supply.
“It is anticipated that water saving initiatives in the Gauge’s design will reduce potable water consumption by a further 30% when compared with typical existing 5 Star Green Star rated buildings, while the on-site electricity cogeneration system will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 30% when compared to typical 5 Star Green Star buildings,” he added.
“With the building now complete and due to be occupied next month, we are looking forward to experiencing this world leading development first hand,” Taylor concluded.
