Morguard Corp. has started construction of a 431-unit, purpose-built rental property in Mississauga, Ont.
The development comprises a nine-storey tower and two eight-storey buildings, housing studios to three-bedroom units as well as townhouses and penthouse suites.
On 3.7 acres at 725 Village Green Boulevard, the property aims to achieve LEED-gold certification. Amenities will include a greenhouse, a rooftop terrace, coworking spaces and a fitness center. There will be 480 bicycle spaces and car-charging stations.
The company’s Canadian multi-residential portfolio comprises 16 communities in Ontario and Alberta, with its overall, multi-suite North American portfolio valued at $6.4bn as of June 30.
