NOMA Australia has opened its doors at Barangaroo.
Lendlease has partnered with Tourism Australia to bring Noma Australia to Barangaroo Sydney.
The restaurant is located in Barangaroo’s Anadara building and spans over 500 sqm at ground level, outdoor lounge area and an extensive kitchen and prep area.
Lendlease head of retail development and asset management Gary Horwitz said the opening of Noma at Barangaroo is just the beginning for Australia’s most exciting new food and beverage precinct.
“The restaurant that Lendlease has delivered for Noma Australia is breathtaking. We are well equipped to deliver fantastic retail spaces with an internal design team, and the ability to appoint the best in the business to help bring the design to life, in this case the award-winning Foolscap Studios.
“Just as René has sourced ingredients to create his exceptional menu; we have been busy sourcing the best elements for the interiors. We know that those lucky enough to dine at Noma Australia will be awed by the level of detail that has gone into the fit-out of this restaurant and that they will have the experience of a lifetime,” he added.
Head chef René Redzepi said that the Noma team has felt at home from day one at Barangaroo, and that he is thrilled to be a part of the iconic precinct.
“Being at Barangaroo has reminded me of Noma in Copenhagen, in terms of being on the harbour and the proximity to the water. I’m very happy with the fit out, it’s very different from our space in Copenhagen, yet it has our DNA in it. In collaboration with our partners we’ve succeeded in getting a distinct Australian-ness embedded into the walls,” Redzeip said.
Upon completion Barangaroo will be home to up to 90 retailers – mostly food and beverage – from the smallest laneway bars and canteens, to grand spaces on the harbour including Matt Moran’s three level restaurant and bar.
