CBRE has appointed Darren Nugent to head its growing office occupier business in Australia and New Zealand.
Nugent has served as CBRE’s Hong Kong executive director of office advisory and transaction services for the past 10 years. He joined CBRE in 2006 and has partnered closely with teams across CBRE’s business in the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
Under Nugent, CBRE’s Hong Kong office business won the RICS Office Agency Team of the Year award five times.
Nugent will be based in Melbourne in his new role as regional director, advisory and transaction services – office occupier.
He will work closely with Jenna Wallace, who was recently appointed as leader of CBRE’s Pacific transaction management and portfolio services team.
“Darren’s global experience and leadership skills will further elevate cross-border collaboration to enhance our level of client service,” said Matt Haddon, CBRE’s senior managing director, advisory and transaction services – Pacific said.
“The market has never been more dynamic, as larger occupiers implement long-term workspace plans,” Nugent said.
“There is a strong desire to bring people back to the office but with more flexibility, which will require flexibility in lease structures. At the same time, we’re seeing a continued ‘flight to quality’ trend, as businesses focus on ways to both attract and retain top talent.”
