A recreational property in Ontario’s cottage country has traded for $8m, Green Street News can reveal.
Kayla’s Children Centre acquired 1391 Stoneleigh Road in Bracebridge from private owners. The 750-acre property was previously operated as Camp Tamarack. Colliers had the assignment.
The property is on a private lake and includes multiple cabins, a dining hall, a recreation hall, a basketball court, two baseball diamonds and nine compact tennis courts.
New ownership will undertake a substantial renovation later this year, including updating all existing structures to meet accessibility requirements and winterizing select buildings in order to operate the property year-round. A medical centre will also be built on the site.
1391 Stoneleigh Road is 8 km from the town of Bracebridge in Muskoka. It’s 85 km north of Barrie and 160 km north of Toronto.
Kayla’s Children Centre is a school, therapy clinic and summer camp for children with disabilities, behavioural challenges and complex medical needs. Daniel Gordon and Hadassah Slater are co-chairs on the board of directors.
Rick Howard and Ellen Howard are directors and owners of Camp Tamarack, a children’s overnight camp.
