EXPANDING national logistics group Phoenix Transport has committed to a new 9,999 sqm facility within the South West 1 Industrial Estate for 10 years.
The estate is south of Brisbane and partly developed by Frasers Property Australia.
Phoenix Transport will move to the new address at 43-61 Kellar St in September next year.
The facility has a 9,654 sqm warehouse with 10-metre clearance, 345 sqm of office space and 35 car parks.
Troy Whalan, general manager commercial & industrial Queensland for Frasers Property Australia, said the Brisbane industrial market is performing well for prime sites that have access to major transport links such as the M1 and Logan Motorway.
“This year we have received strong enquiry from several third-party logistics suppliers seeking bespoke, highly sustainable facilities.”
Phoenix Transport had relocated their head office in 2016 to Frasers Property’s 6 Star Green Star Horsley Drive Business Park in Sydney. The new Berrinba warehouse is targeting a 5 Star Green Star Design and As Built rating.
Phoenix Transport was established in November 1993 and operates more than 160 vehicles in Sydney and Brisbane, and are relocating the warehouse from Crestmead.
“Our Queensland transport arm is rapidly expanding and has outgrown our current site. We needed to consolidate our operations to create better operational efficiencies and open up more opportunities in 3PL,” Gavin McAnulty, Queensland state manager at Phoenix Transport, said.
Companies in the South West 1 Industrial Estate include Avery Dennison, DHL, PACCAR Australia, National Tiles, Sigma Healthcare and CTI Logistics.
The development was created by Logan City Council to draw investment and jobs to the area.
