AUCTION markets showed varied results across the country, while nationally rates were up from the previous week.
National
Of the 1,787 homes listed, 1,348 were auctioned and 1,102 were sold, for a clearance rate of 81.8%.
Volumes totalled $971.6 million and the median house and unit sale prices were $1,150,000 and $752,500 respectively.
This is up from the previous week where there were 1,390 listings, 1,137 auctions and 879 sales totalling $798.9 million, resulting in a stable 77.3% clearance rate.
Sydney
Of the 624 homes listed, 480 were auctioned and 414 sold with clearance rates of 86.3%.
Volumes totalled $450.8 million and the median house and unit sale prices were $1,696,250 and $962,000.
In the previous weekend the rate was 85.9% from 553 listings, 515 auctions and 432 sales totalling $492.4 million.
This time last year the rate was 74.8% from 828 listings, 769 auctions and 575 sales totalling $838.4 million.
Melbourne
Of the 1,004 homes listed, 744 were auctioned and 586 sold with clearance rates of 78.8%.
Volumes totalled $452.9 million and the median house and unit sale prices were $1,010,000 and $687,500.
Withdrawals were down from the previous week’s 97, but still high with 70 houses withdrawn.
In the previous weekend the rate was 72.0% from 693 listings, 489 auctions and 352 sales totalling $253.1 million.
This time last year the rate was 73.5% from 1,189 listings, 1,086 auctions and 798 sales totalling $852.9 million.
The REIV reported an 85% clearance rate from 795 auctions and 678 sales, totalling $786 million. According to REIV, 80 auctions were postponed and 273 results were not reported.
300 private sales were reported totalling $265 million.
Canberra
Of the 55 homes listed, 49 were auctioned and 42 sold with clearance rates of 86%, according to Domain.
Volumes totalled $36,721,000 and the median sale price was $910,000.
According to Corelogic, ACT’s clearance rate was 93% from 30 available auction results, with 28 sold at auction and 73 private sales.
Adelaide
Of the 47 homes listed, 35 were auctioned and 28 sold with clearance rates of 80%, according to Domain.
Volumes totalled $12,155,500 and the median sale price was $581,500.
Corelogic reported a clearance rate of 85% for SA from 31 available auction results, with 26 sold at auction and 351 private sales.
Brisbane
Of the 57 homes listed, 40 were auctioned and 32 sold with clearance rates of 80%, according to Domain.
Volumes totalled $19,088,500 and the median sale price was $940,500.
According to Corelogic, Queensland reported a clearance rate of 76% from 59 available auction results, with 42 sold at auction and 184 private sales.
Perth
In Perth Corelogic reported a clearance rate of 50% from 21 auctions scheduled, while 2 were sold at auction and 2 were passed in, from the 4 auction results available.
There were also 558 private sales reported.
Hobart
Tasmania reported no auctions but saw 204 private sales, reported Corelogic.
Darwin
According to Corelogic, in the Northern Territory there was a 50% clearance rate, with 7 auctions scheduled, 1 property sold at auction and one passed in. Additionally, there were 26 private sales.
