RISLAND Australia’s $2 billion Wilton Greens development has been granted land registration by the Wollondilly Shire Council for stage one.
With Wilton targeted as an area for major economic growth in the future, this marks a huge milestone in such a vital development.
The development-approved stage one will include 678 land parcels in the middle of the master-planned community. However the land registration issued by Council only includes the first phase of Stage 1 (263 land parcels). Over 1.4 million tonnes of earth have already been moved. TRN Group was awarded the civil infrastructure and subdivision works.
The entire development is set to include 3600 land parcels containing a variety of houses. It will also be home to two employment hubs, a local neighbourhood centre, high quality parks and playgrounds, km’s worth of bike tracks and 8.5 hectares of open spaces.
State and federal governments are planning to invest billions into the region of South West Sydney according to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment which outlines Wilton’s 2040 vision.
Some of the investments projected in the vision includes $7 billion on economic development, $632 million on Campbelltown Hospital redevelopment and $178.5 million for transport and new infrastructure as well as many more jobs in retail, education and health.
Wilton Greens is located at the gateway in the South West. It is approx. 30km from Campbelltown, approx. 40km from Wollongong and about 80km from the Sydney CBD.
Risland Australia’s senior development manager Andre Byczkov says the project has been in the works for a long time.
“Risland has worked closely with key stakeholders such as Transport for NSW and Sydney Water for several years in the lead up to gaining land registration for the first stage. This is a crucial milestone for the project. Wilton Greens is the first masterplanned development in New South Wales for Risland,” Byczkov said.
“The company’s vision to create a high-quality residential lifestyle in the centre of Sydney’s South West is now one step closer.”
“The South West is acknowledged as the engine room for Sydney’s economic growth and affluence with multi-billion investment from both the state and federal governments as well as the private sector in housing, infrastructure and jobs to accommodate exponential expansion. Wilton Greens is ideally positioned to capitalise on this burgeoning expansion by providing well-serviced developed land and residential amenity in this growth corridor.”
The Wilton Greens development is set to incorporate landscape as a major factor with the goal to reflect the nature of the Southern Highlands region. Architecture firm Group GSA is tasked with designing the landscaping program.
“The landscape and open spaces will provide the backdrop to Wilton Greens and deliver essential ambience, spirit of place and overriding character,” said John Holland, director at Group GSA.
“The approach is to establish a high quality, contemporary landscape incorporating community identity with a strong sense of place, while maximising conservation and revegetation of threatened ecological communities. Care and attention to the total design of the landscape is at play.”
Sales manager at Wilton Greens, Tim Clarke says that the way of living the development is planning to create is an attractive option for home buyers.
“Price as well as proximity to transport infrastructure, schools, shopping and community amenities are key purchasing drivers for buyers as well as access to green open spaces to live an active lifestyle. Homes that support an outdoors lifestyle are very popular. The idea of living in a brand- new walkable and connected community that is well priced is very appealing.
“Creating a future in a growth region and thinking long term are crucial elements for financial success when purchasing in Sydney’s property market,” he added.
