LENDLEASE has secured San-Francisco based software company Salesforce as anchor tenants and naming rights holder to its $1.5 billion tower under construction at Circular Quay, which will rise 263 metres to become the city’s tallest building on completion.
The New York-listed company announced plans to add 1,000 new jobs in Sydney over the next five years, and employees will start moving into the tower from late 2022.
Plans for the building include a top “Ohana Floor”, an open hospitality space for Salesforce employees, customers and partners, and which will be available for non-profits and local education groups on weeknights and weekends at no cost.
Salesforce Tower Sydney is one of ten the company has announced, including its headquarters in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, London, Tokyo, Dublin, Indianapolis and Atlanta.
Designed by Foster + Partners, the tower is being constructed on the former Jackson on George hotel site and will include a mixed use podium and new hospitality offerings. The building has achieved WELL core and Shell Platinum pre-certification and is pursuing 6 Star Green Star Design and As Built rating.
Crown Sydney will eventually surpass the tower in height and take the Harbour City mantle from the 53-storey building.
“Salesforce has a proud history in Australia, having been here for over 15 years. Salesforce Tower Sydney is taking that commitment to a new level and will allow us to have an even greater impact on our people, our customers, and most importantly our community,” Pip Marlow, Salesforce Australia and New Zealand chief executive officer said.
Circular Quay’s revamp includes AMP Capital’s $2.7 billion Quay Quarter Tower, part of the Quay Quarter project, reaching 200 metres in height with 97,000 sqm of space. AMP will anchor the tower with a tenancy of 36,500 sqm.
