ONE of Australia’s most successful commercial real estate agents, Mark Wizel, has shocked the property industry by resigning from CBRE.
Wizel confirmed to Australian Property Journal of his departure from the agency after over a decade.
“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm my employment with CBRE is at an end.
“The company insisted on imposing unacceptable changes to my employment and despite my best efforts they refused to budge.” Wizel said.
He was a national director with CBRE heading a 64-person team in the sub $100 million market sector. He is one of the most successful commercial real estate agents in Australia, handling over $14 billion in sales since 2009.
Wizel is also an expert on Asia capital markets, particularly Chinese investment.
He was the king dealmaker when it came to development sites and shopping centre assets to Asian buyers, accounting for 75% of transactions ranging between $30 million and $185 million.
In a statement CBRE confirmed his departure.
“Mark Wizel has left CBRE to pursue other opportunities. We’d like to thank him for his contributions to CBRE during his time with the business.” CBRE said.
Wizel is expected to be highly sought-after by rival agencies.
One senior agent told Australian Property Journal, “There is no doubt job offers will rushing to Mark’s door once this story is printed.”
