STEEL building product manufacturer Metroll has settled on its acquisition of a 1.1-hectare block of land in Townsville’s Bohle Industrial Estate as it continues on the expansion path.
State Member for Townsville Scott Stewart said the settlement of Lot 22 at the Economic Development Queensland industrial precinct was a sign of confidence in the region.
“Metroll’s acquisition of this industrial land is expected to support 12 local jobs and will further boost Townsville’s building and construction sector,” he said.
Bohle Industrial Estate is an EDQ industrial precinct for medium-impact industries.
At 10,970 sqm, Metroll’s new manufacturing site will be three times the size of their current Townsville property.
This is the fifth purchase of EDQ industrial land by Metroll, which now has sites stretching from Cairns to the Sunshine Coast.
Metroll general manager Ian Grambower said the access to these industrial sites across Queensland has allowed his business to expand.
“As one of the country’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of steel building products, we need to secure suitable industrial land to best serve Queenslanders and to allow our business to grow,” he said.
EDQ sites Metroll has purchased include at the Woree Business and Industry Park, Cairns; Clinton Industrial Estate, Gladstone; Parkhurst Industrial Estate, Rockhampton; Bundaberg Industrial Park, Bundaberg; and the Sunshine Coast Industrial Park.
“Being able to secure industrial land at these locations across Queensland has ensured we can expand our market in key strategic areas and employ more local staff.”
