SWANSTON St’s first auction since 2015 has been booked, with a family offering a two-level building to the market after 70 years of ownership.
Leased to a dumpling and noodle house New Taipei and located next door to the McDonald’s on the corner of Lonsdale St, the two level 130 sqm shop at 273 Swanston St will go auction on 12th March through CBRE’s Alex Brierley, Julian White, Nathan Mufale and Chao Zhang.
One of Melbourne CBD’s major retail thoroughfares, Swanston St last saw a property go under the hammer in 2015, when the 1930s-style, heritage 123 Swanston St building sold for just under $16 million, on a yield of 2.75%.
“Swanston Street has long been regarded as Melbourne CBD’s most highly desirable and tightly held street of property ownership and this is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity,” Brierley said.
