THE very first luxury apartment development to come to Templestowe has begun construction as the quaint suburb receives a boost for further tourism.
Despite being located just 16km north-east of Melbourne’s CBD, Templestowe has remained quiet, with this development certainly bringing something a little different to the suburb. Templestowe is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of city life. Bordered by the Yarra River and showing off glorious rolling hills, it’s the perfect location to reset with its country town vibes.
Construction started this month at Serpells Place (27-29 Serpells Road, Templestowe) with award-winning KUD Architects appointing Melbourne builder FOURSQ.
The luxury development will consist of 20 house-sized apartments including two penthouses – one of which has already broken suburb records.
KUD Architects’ four-level design is set to take advantage of Templestowe’s stunning location with high glazed windows to provide unreal views of the landscape of the suburb’s surroundings. The apartments will also incorporate timber floors, porcelain tiles, natural stone and integrated fireplaces. There will also be access to tranquil garden retreats for residents that have been designed by John Patrick.
Pontem group director Fil Gacesa is managing the sales and marketing for Serpells Place. Gacesa says the space and openness of land in the area in general has inspired the spaciousness of the apartments in the development.
“Many properties in Templestowe are sitting on acreage, and as many of our buyers are from this area, they’re not willing to compromise on the illusion of space. That’s why the oversized residences with luscious green views, spacious courtyards and soaring windows are so important to this development, as it truly sets it apart,” Gacesa said.
“With Serpells Place, like most other developments in Australia, we are bringing a project to life in challenging conditions in terms of construction costs, labour shortages and supplier delays. We are excited to be able to bring luxury apartment living to Templestowe with a confident completion date in 2024.”
Director of FOURSQ James Hayter is excited for the company to be involved.
“We’ve completed a multitude of similar projects around Glen Iris, Hawthorn, and Balwyn, and look forward to bringing Templestowe’s first luxury apartment project to life,” he said.
