A SHOPPING centre site in Canberra’s new suburb of Bonner has sold significantly above the reserve price at auction, for $3.2 million.
The 5,365 sqm was fought over by 12 local and interstate developers and eventually was snapped up by Bonner Shops Pty Ltd.
ACT Department of Land and Property Services acting CEO David Dawes hailed the sale as further proof of the strength of the ACT economy.
“The local shopping centre site will form an important part of the central hub of Bonner being
prominently located on Mabo Boulevard and close to planned community facilities which will include a primary school.
“The site’s zoning allows for the development of a local shop, a takeaway, or other services, along with residential accommodation above, so it offers significant scope for developers looking to create a valuable and viable business,” he concluded.
